Medienkunst ist universell. Im Blick auf die freie Filmszene diversifizieren sich mittlerweile zahlreiche medienkünstlerische Strömungen im Subgenre „Film als Medienkunst“. Das Filmboard Karlsruhe möchte zusammen mit den INDEPENDENT DAYS|Internationale Filmfestspiele Karlsruhe unabhängigen Filmemachern ohne große finanzielle Möglichkeiten eine Produktionsmöglichkeit für ein Low-Budget-Projekt im Wert von 3.000 Euro bieten. Daher wird das "Media Arts Film Scholarship 2024" im Rahmen von "Karlsruhe – UNESCO City of Media Arts" ausgelobt.
Für dieses Stipendium gesucht werden artifizielle Kurzfilmideen, die auf kreative und außergewöhnliche Weise eine Geschichte erzählen. Egal ob Ihr eine fiktive,
experimentelle, mokumentarische oder dokumentarische Kurzfilm-Idee habt – schickt sie uns zu und überzeugt unsere Jury von Eurem Projekt. In diesem Jahr sind erstmals auch immersive Projekt-Ideen
zugelassen.
Die Filmidee sollte eine Laufzeitlänge von 10 Minuten nicht überschreiten und noch nicht umgesetzt worden sein. Eine Fachjury wird aus allen Einreichungen eine Idee auswählen, die dann in Zusammenarbeit mit Karlsruher Filmemacher*innen umgesetzt wird.
Die Premiere Eures Films wird im Rahmen der INDEPENDENT DAYS|Internationale Filmfestspiele Karlsruhe stattfinden.
Wer?
Diese Ausschreibung richtet sich an alle Kreativschaffenden, die im Bereich "Medienkunst" und/oder „Film“ tätig sind, auch studentische Projekte sind willkommen. Eine Altersbeschränkung gibt es nicht. Angesprochen werden sollen insbesondere Medienkünstlerinnen und -künstler aus den anderen UNESCO Creative Cities of Media Arts. Eine Teilnahme steht aber auch für alle anderen Filmemacher*innen und Medienkünstler*innen offen.
Wie?
Der Preis des Awards besteht aus einem Produktionsstipendium, das dem Gewinner ermöglicht, mit Unterstützung des Filmboards Karlsruhe (z. B. in Form von Drehbuchentwicklung, Dreh in Karlsruhe, Postproduktion oder Musikkomposition) ein professionelles Medienkunst-Filmprojekt zu realisieren. Entstehen soll dabei ein experimenteller Kurzfilm, der sich thematisch mit den aktuellen Fragestellungen unserer Gesellschaft auseinandersetzt.
Einreichung einer Projektidee ist bis zum 31. Mai 2024 möglich!
What?
Media art is universal. With regard to the independent film scene, numerous media art movements are now diversifying in the sub-genre “film as media art”. Together with the INDEPENDENT DAYS | Internationale Filmfestspiele Karlsruhe, the Filmboard Karlsruhe would like to offer independent filmmakers without great financial opportunities a production option for a low-budget project worth 3,000 Euro. This is why the short film competition "Media Arts Film Scholarship 2024" is being announced under the label "Karlsruhe - UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts". This year, immersive project ideas are also permitted for the first time.
We are looking for artificial short film ideas that tell a story in a creative and unusual way. Regardless of whether you have a fictional, experimental, documentary or documentary short film
idea - send it to us and convince our jury of your project.
The film idea should not exceed a running time of 10 minutes and have not yet been implemented. An expert jury will select an idea from all the submissions, which will then be implemented in
cooperation with Karlsruhe filmmakers.
The premiere of your film will take place as part of the INDEPENDENT DAYS | Karlsruhe International Film Festival.
Who?
This call for applications is aimed at all creative professionals who work in the field of "media art" and / or "film"; student projects are also welcome. There is no age limit. Media artists from the other UNESCO Cities of Media Arts are to be addressed in particular. Participation is also open to all other filmmakers and media artists.
How?
The award consists of a production grant that enables the winner to realize a professional media art film project with the support of the Filmboard Karlsruhe (e.g. in the form of script development, shooting in Karlsruhe, post-production or music composition). The aim is to produce an experimental short film that thematically deals with current issues in our society.
The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2024.
